FAQ
Questions regarding the program
Qimam is a fellowship program supported by a coalition of leading national and international companies that aims to identify, develop, and empower the most promising and distinguished university students in and from Saudi Arabia to achieve their full potential. It was created based on the belief that Saudi Arabia is rich with extraordinary talent and that developing such talent is one of the best investments for a brighter future.
Qimam was founded in 2018 by McKinsey & Company and Dr. Annas Abedin, a McKinsey Alumnus and entrepreneur. McKinsey provides strategic guidance from its global expert network to deliver a world-class program to young leaders in the Kingdom. The program is fully funded by McKinsey.
Qimam provides its fellows with one-on-one mentorship from senior public and private sector leaders, leadership training by professionals from renowned companies, visits to the Saudi Arabian offices of leading national and international companies, membership in the Qimam Alumni Network, and an award for their distinctiveness upon completion of the program during a high-profile ceremony. It will also share profiles of fellows with leading HR executives in KSA to facilitate their career opportunities.
Yes. After you complete the program, you will be recognized with the “Qimam Award for High-Potential Leaders” at an award ceremony.
Attending the training (25 June – 06 July 2024) is mandatory. Absences from any of the sessions during the training program will result in disqualification from the program. Receiving the “Qimam Award for High-Potential Leaders” and becoming a member of the Qimam Alumni Network is contingent on attending the full training.
Same as in previous years, our objective is to run the program in-person in Riyadh. Whether or not this will be possible will depend on the health situation at that time. We will monitor the situation and follow the guidance of the health authorities on the matter. Selected fellows will be informed closer to the date on the final decision. Should it not be possible to run the program in-person due to health concerns, the program would be run virtually on the same days (25 June – 06 July 2024).
Whether the program is run virtually or in-person, attendance is mandatory. Should it be possible to run the progam in-person, all fellows (including current residents of Riyadh) would be required to stay at the hotel in which the training will take place (all travel and accommodation costs covered by Qimam and its partners).

Questions regarding interviews
All interviews will take place virtually on 22 March – 24 March 2024. Candidates shortlisted for an interview will be notified via email and receive detailed instructions regarding the duration of the interviews, the technology and dial-in details, as well regarding the exact time-slots allocated to them for the interview.
Unfortunately, participating in the virtual video interviews is a requirement to be admitted into the Qimam Fellowship, as the interviews are a crucial component of Qimam’s stringent selection process.
Questions regarding selection
Applicants will be selected into the Fellowship based on their levels of academic performance, initiative, and social responsibility. If you are distinctive in at least one of those areas, we strongly encourage you to apply. Candidates who score high on all three dimensions have a higher chance of being selected to the Fellowship. However, a particularly strong performance in one of those three areas may also be sufficient. Please browse the profiles of our Alumni on our website to get a better sense of what we are looking for in our fellows.
Unfortunately not. Decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
Unfortunately not. Due the large number of applicants, it will not be possible to provide individual feedback on applications.
